Nicodemus Omundo

Nicodemus Omundo is a visionary food systems leader with 10+ years of progressive experience driving transformational change across Africa’s agricultural and food value chains. Proven track record of building strategic partnerships, leading multi-stakeholder initiatives, and scaling innovative solutions from grassroots to global levels.

Currently he is a senior culinary specialist at International Food Services. IFS is Belgian-based independent maritime catering company for different offshore and merchant vessels.

As a Sustainable Gastronomy Chef-Entrepreneur and Food Innovation Consultant, he leverages systems thinking, strategic foresight, and food design to reimagine our collective food futures across Africa.

In the past, he has designed innovative food systems initiatives that promoted food justice and sovereignty. He’s consulted on sustainable gastronomy and culinary innovation projects and led global campaigns and training for food systems transformation. 

He’s the founder Food Innovation Studio, which specializes in nurturing and investing in food innovation efforts across the continent. He also co-founded Food Solidarity International, specializing in emergency nutrition solutions. 

In 2023, he led the Universal Plate Global Campaign, which resulted in 3 million plates of food being shared across 43 cities in 30 countries worldwide.

Nicodemus is a published author and released “Organic Life’s Guide to Concoctions” in 2018. His second book will be released in 2026.

He remains passionate about collaborating with organizations and individuals committed to building resilient, equitable food, and culinary systems. He is eager to explore collaboration opportunities with those working on food innovation, sustainability, or social impact in Africa and beyond.”
